Why we built 36
Every other PDF site uploads your file before you finish reading the page.
iLovePDF, SmallPDF, PDF24, Sejda — these are the sites you Google when you need to merge two PDFs. They all do the same thing: upload your document to their server, process it there, send it back. Your contract, your tax return, your medical record — sitting on someone else's disk while their JavaScript shows you a progress bar.
We built PDF tools that do the opposite. Everything runs in your browser via pdf-lib and Mozilla's PDF.js. Drop the file, click convert, download the result — your bytes never leave the tab. Open your browser's network inspector and watch: zero outbound requests during the convert step. That's not a privacy feature you opt into; it's the only way the tool works.

Every PDF tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file goes from your file system → browser memory → output blob. Never to a server. Network tab during convert: zero outbound requests. We log nothing because there is nothing to log.
