- Where do these trivia questions come from?
- Hand-curated bank of ~450 questions across 10 topics × 3 difficulty levels, with at least 15 questions per bucket. Every question and answer was verified against general knowledge — no AI autocomplete-shaped facts, no "close enough" guesses. The bank is static and refreshed periodically. If you spot something wrong, tell us.
- Why aren't there any questions about recent events?
- Anything post-2023 dates faster than the catalog can be updated. "Who won the most recent election" becomes wrong six months later. We stick to facts that don't expire — "What year did the Berlin Wall fall?" stays correct forever. If you want current-events trivia, this isn't the tool.
- How is the difficulty calibrated?
- Easy is common knowledge most adults would answer correctly — capitals of major countries, basic science, popular culture from the last 50 years. Medium is trivia-night staples — you'd expect a solid general-knowledge enthusiast to get most of them. Hard is real specialist territory — you'd need to know your field. The buckets are calibrated by hand, not by algorithm, so there's some judgment in the borderline cases.
- Can I see the answers without revealing each one individually?
- Yes. Click Show all answers after generating a batch — every question flips to show its answer. The default is hidden because the common use case is hosting (you want to read the question, let people guess, then reveal). If you're just generating questions to copy elsewhere, Show all is one click away.
- Why does the Copy all output use the format 'Q1. ... — A: ...'?
- Plain text that pastes cleanly into a doc, a Slack message, a Notion page, an email. No markdown that might or might not render. No HTML. One line per Q&A pair, numbered, with a clean em-dash separator. If you need a different format, copy a single question and reformat — most use cases are served by the standard output.
- Are the same questions in the bank every time?
- Yes. The bank is a static curated set. Each Generate click rolls a fresh random subset from the bank for your chosen topic × difficulty. With 15+ questions per bucket and a 10-question max per batch, you'll rarely see the same batch twice in a row — but eventually, on the same topic at the same difficulty, you'll see questions repeat. That's the honest tradeoff of a hand-curated bank vs. an AI generator (which would hallucinate facts).
- Is the Geography category US/Europe-centric?
- No, by design. The bank includes questions from all six inhabited continents — capitals of African countries (Kenya, Morocco, Ethiopia), South American geography (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay), Asian geography (Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia), Oceania (Papua New Guinea, New Zealand), and so on. A trivia generator that only knows European capitals is half a tool.
- Can I use these for a real quiz or just for fun?
- Both. Pub quiz hosts use the Hard set for tiebreakers. Teachers use the Easy set for classroom warm-ups. Parents use the Medium set on road trips. The Copy all output is designed to paste cleanly into whatever format you're running. Just verify the answers if the quiz is for prizes — we're confident but not infallible.
