What does the Would You Rather Generator do?
The Would You Rather Generator hands you random "Would you rather…" questions sorted by who's in the room. Pick an audience, choose how many questions you want (1 to 10), and press Generate. Every question gives two choices, and nobody gets to say "neither."

Every question was written by a person, not a model. The generator draws from six hand-written banks of 16 questions each, 96 in all. There's no sign-up, no paywall halfway down the list, and no waiting for a server. The list appears the moment you press the button.
How to pick the right questions for the room
The wrong question at the wrong table is how a fun game turns into a long silence. The audience menu in the Would You Rather Generator exists to prevent that. Here's what each bank is for:

Spicy is the "would you rather for adults" bank. It's built on social embarrassment: old texts, group chats, exes, dating apps. It's never sexual and never graphic. Skip it for kids and for a first date. Hard can also get heavy, because some questions touch death, memory and family, so save it for people who'll enjoy going there.
For count, three questions fill a five-minute ice breaker, five covers a car ride between exits, and ten is a full round at a party.
How to play Would You Rather
The game has almost no rules, which is why it works with any group. Here's the version that keeps it moving:
- Read the question out loud. One person reads, everyone listens.
- Everyone picks at once. Count to three and point left or right, or hold up one or two fingers. Picking together stops people copying the loudest voice.
- The smaller side explains. The people who picked the less popular option have to defend it. This is where the good arguments start.
- No "neither," no "both." Changing the question to dodge it ("I'd rather have the dragon but only if…") costs you your turn as reader.
- Pass the reading on. Whoever explained last reads the next one.
On a video call, put the list in the chat and have people react with 1 or 2. For a classroom, write the two options on opposite walls and have students walk to their side.
Using it as a question of the day
A would you rather question of the day is one of the easiest habits to keep going in a team channel or a classroom. Set the count to 10, pick Work-Safe or Family Friendly, and press Copy all. For a longer run, change the audience in the Would You Rather Generator and copy again. Inside a single batch, no question appears twice. Tip: Some questions have a fill-in that changes from roll to roll, like the food, animal or city. "Would you rather visit Buenos Aires for a weekend…" might come back as Tokyo, Lisbon or Reykjavik next time. If a question repeats, the details often don't. Also, once you've generated a batch, changing the audience or the count rolls a fresh batch right away.
How to write your own would you rather questions
The generator doesn't take custom topics, and it can't build a question about your office or your best friend's weird habits. If you want to make your own, these rules make the difference between a dilemma and a shrug:
- Make both sides cost something. "A million dollars or a punch in the arm" isn't a choice. "Know when you'll die but not how, or how but not when" is.
- Keep both sides the same size. If one option is a whole life and the other is a Tuesday afternoon, people pick in a second and nobody talks.
- Be specific. "Be famous" is vague. "Be famous in your industry but anonymous outside it" gives people something to picture.
- Make it about the people playing. The best homemade questions use the group's own jokes, places and history. That's the one thing no generator can write for you.

No. There's no voting, no poll and no stats on what strangers chose. The tool gives you the questions; the argument happens in the room.
