Are these excuses safe to use at work?

The 'plausible' set is — they read like everyday life: traffic, alarm trouble, a sick kid, a vet visit, a school call. The 'creative' set reads as unusual but possible; use them sparingly with people who know you. The 'absurd' set is for the meme — sending 'a goose was blocking my driveway' to your manager is a different kind of conversation than this tool can help you with. The honest move with real people is almost always to just say what's going on.

Why isn't this AI-generated?

AI excuses sound the same because they regress to the same generic mean. Templates curated by hand are sharper, faster, and don't randomly reference your last conversation by accident. The widget rolls from a bank with slot fills (`{pet}`, `{transport}`, `{family_member}`) so the surface text varies — but the punchlines stay good. No API call, no waiting, no token cost.

Can I rely on Regenerate giving me something new?

Each click re-rolls from the bank for that situation × tone. Banks are 8-12 templates with slot variations, so back-to-back batches usually look different. If you ask for 10 excuses from a bank that has 8 templates, two of the templates will repeat with different slot fills (so they read differently).

Is anything saved or sent anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. There's no account, no log, no upload. Close the tab and the output is gone.

Why do you keep telling me to be honest?

Because we have to. This is a generator labeled 'for fun.' Treating it like a relationship strategy is the wrong tool for that job. The grown-up version of 'I'm late' or 'I forgot' or 'I don't want to come tonight' is the truth, said briefly. The excuses here are a joke. The disclaimer is part of the joke and also genuinely the advice.

What's the difference between Plausible, Creative, and Absurd?

Plausible reads like the kind of thing that actually happens to people — traffic, illness, a pet that needs the vet, a deadline at work. Creative reads as unusual but not impossible — an elevator stuck, a leak you had to wait out, a flight schedule change. Absurd is deliberately ridiculous — for inside jokes with friends, sending to your group chat, posting on social media. Don't use Absurd with your manager or someone you owe a real apology to.
