A signature image when a form asks for one

You are halfway through an application and the next field says “Upload signature.” There is no paper nearby, no scanner, and no saved image of your signature. This tool handles that small missing piece. Draw your mark or type your name, download an image, and return to the form.

Big Software often turns a small document task into a subscription, a trial, or a workspace to configure. Creating an image does not need any of that. There is no account to create and no export to pay for.

Draw your own mark or use a handwriting font

Draw mode records the strokes you make in the drawing area. Use a mouse on a computer, a finger on a phone, or a stylus. Undo removes your most recent stroke without discarding the rest. Clear starts the current mode again. Switching between Draw and Type lets you compare the two approaches without needing to start a new page.

Type mode renders the name you enter in a handwriting font. It is useful when you want a readable signature-style image without drawing. It is not a recreation of your handwriting. Review the preview, especially for names containing characters outside the chosen font's coverage. Your device may display those characters using a different font.

Choose the format the website accepts

A PNG download has a transparent background. It works well when you need the signature to sit on top of another image or document. A JPG download has a white background and is useful when an upload field specifically asks for JPEG. The tool crops around the visible ink with a small margin, so the image does not include the whole drawing area.

A transparent image can look different in different image viewers. If a viewer uses a dark background, dark ink can be difficult to see. That does not mean the signature disappeared. View it against white before deciding that the export failed.

Check the upload instructions before changing anything else. If the form requires particular pixel dimensions, use Image Resizer. If it has a file-size limit, Image Compressor can help. Inspect the result after resizing or compressing: a small file is not useful if the signature is no longer readable.

What this image does not provide

The download is an image of a signature. It does not verify who made it, attach a signing certificate, or record a document audit trail. Whether a receiving organization accepts an image depends on its instructions and workflow. Follow those instructions instead of assuming that an upload makes a document verified.

If your task is to place a drawn signature on a PDF rather than upload a separate image, open Sign PDF. That is a different task with its own tool. For a workflow requiring identity verification or a certificate, use the process the recipient specifies.

Keep the downloaded file private

Your name and strokes are processed locally in this tab. The signature tool does not upload them or save them in browser storage. Closing or reloading the page clears the tool's current work. A downloaded file remains on your device, so keep it somewhere private and share it only with a recipient you trust.
