- How many feet are in a meter?
- One meter is 3.28084 feet, or 3 ft 3.37 in. The number goes on forever (3.280839895…) because the foot is defined as exactly 0.3048 m, and 1 ÷ 0.3048 doesn't come out even. That's why this converter divides by 0.3048 instead of multiplying by a rounded 3.28: the division is exact, while 3.28 drifts by about 0.03%, which is an inch short over 100 m of fence.
- How do I convert meters to feet in my head?
- Multiply by 3, then add 10% of that. 1.75 m → 5.25 → 5.25 + 0.53 = 5.78 ft.
