How to use

  1. 1

The whole year is already on screen. Every month of 2026 sits in the Year view, with the 11 US federal holidays highlighted and listed underneath.

  2. 2

Flip the toggles to fit how you plan. Holidays hides or shows the highlights and the list. Week numbers adds an ISO week column on the left. Monday start reflows every month so weeks run Monday to Sunday.

  3. 3

Want bigger squares? Open the Month tab and pick a month. You get one large calendar with holiday names written in the day cells.

  4. 4

Need paper? Open the Print tab to preview the black-and-white sheet, then press Print. All 12 months fit on one US Letter page, and navigation, controls, and ads stay off the paper.

  5. 5

Press Copy holidays to grab the holiday list as plain text, one line per holiday, like "Jan 1 — New Year's Day". Paste it into a planner, an email, or a shared doc.

What is a 2026 calendar?

A 2026 calendar shows every date in the year, lined up with the correct weekday. That sounds tiny until you need to know whether July 4 lands on a Saturday, when Thanksgiving happens, or how many Mondays are left before a deadline. The year 2026 is a common year with 365 days. It starts on Thursday, January 1, and ends on Thursday, December 31. Calendar 2026 gives you the full year view, a larger month view, US federal holiday highlights, optional ISO week numbers, and a print-ready page that keeps the calendar on paper and leaves the website furniture behind. Most planning software wants to turn this into an account, a workspace, a template gallery, or a per-seat thing. That is the Big Software pattern: make the small job depend on the big contract. This page does the small job directly.

How to use Calendar 2026

The fastest way to use the tool is also the intended way: open it, check the date, and leave. No setup ritual. No “create your first workspace” confetti. The full 2026 year calendar appears first because that is what most people came for.

  1. Use the Year tab to scan all 12 months at once.
  2. Turn Holidays on or off depending on whether you want US federal holidays marked.
  3. Turn Week numbers on if you plan by ISO week number instead of only by dates.
  4. Turn Monday start on if your week runs Monday through Sunday.
  5. Switch to Month when you want one month with larger cells.
  6. Switch to Print, then choose Print for a clean one-page reference.

The Copy holidays button copies the holiday list as plain text, one holiday per line. That is useful when you are building a school schedule, checking a payroll calendar, or pasting dates into a message without dragging a whole screenshot along for the ride.

How the 2026 calendar works

A calendar page is only useful if the dates are right. Calendar 2026 builds the year from date rules, not from a hand-typed picture of a calendar. January 1, 2026 is a Thursday. February has 28 days. December 31, 2026 is also a Thursday. Those anchors decide how every month grid lines up.

2026 is a common year: 365 days, 52 full weeks plus 1 day, starting on Thursday and ending on Thursday.

Here is a worked example. In November 2026, November 1 lands on Sunday. The tool places the first row as Nov 1 through Nov 7 when Sunday start is selected. Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, so count the Thursdays: Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19, and Nov 26. The tool marks Thursday, Nov 26, 2026 as Thanksgiving Day. If you turn on Monday start, the same date stays Thursday, but the row shifts so Monday appears first and Sunday moves to the end.

Week numbers use ISO 8601 rules. ISO weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week with the year’s first Thursday. Since Jan 1, 2026 is a Thursday, it sits in ISO week 1. The row containing Dec 31, 2026 sits in ISO week 53. That matters if your company, school, or production schedule names weeks as “week 14” instead of “the week of March 30.”

US federal holidays in 2026

The 2026 calendar with holidays marks the 11 US federal holidays. Some are fixed dates, like New Year’s Day on Jan 1 and Christmas Day on Dec 25. Others use weekday rules, like Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the third Monday in January and Memorial Day on the last Monday in May. Independence Day is a little extra in 2026: July 4 falls on a Saturday, so many federal employees observe it on Friday, July 3, even though the calendar date remains Saturday, July 4.

This table is federal only. States, schools, banks, and private employers can add their own days or observe closures differently. If you are building a payroll or staffing plan, treat the federal list as the base layer, then add your local rules on top. The calendar gives you the bones. Your organization adds the weird little elbows.

Printable planning without the template maze

A 2026 printable calendar should not require a design degree, a file download, or a tour through 47 nearly identical templates. The print view on this page is built for one normal job: put the year on a US Letter page in black and white. Controls, navigation, and ads stay off the paper. That matters because printed calendars often end up on refrigerators, classroom walls, warehouse clipboards, and desks where nobody cares about gradients.

The year view is best for scanning. Use it when you want to see spring break, fiscal quarters, summer weekends, or the long stretch from Labor Day to Thanksgiving. Month view is better when you are planning one block of time and need room to point at dates. Print view is the paper version. It keeps all 12 months together and includes the holiday list when holidays are on.

This is where the fight with Big Software gets practical. Big Software turns a calendar into a platform: accounts, shared workspaces, AI features bundled inside contracts, trial gates, and pricing that changes depending on how many people sit near you. That makes sense for running a giant organization. It makes no sense when you need a 2026 year calendar for a wall, a syllabus, a vacation plan, or a tax folder. A printable reference should act like a printable reference. Shocking idea. Somebody alert the committee.

Edge cases and common gotchas

Calendar 2026 is fixed to the Gregorian year 2026. It does not store personal events, sync with external calendars, send reminders, or know your company’s closure schedule. That is not a missing feature. It is the point. The tool shows the year clearly and lets you print or copy the federal holiday list.

Week numbers can also surprise people. The tool uses ISO week numbers, where weeks start on Monday. If you keep Sunday as the visible first day, the ISO number still comes from the row’s Monday. That is correct, but it can feel odd if you grew up with Sunday-first paper calendars. Turn on Monday start if ISO week planning matters to you.

Holiday observance is another place to be careful. The holiday highlight marks the calendar date. The holiday list notes observed dates when a fixed-date holiday falls on a weekend. In 2026, Independence Day is Saturday, July 4, and the federal observed day is Friday, July 3. If your workplace closes on a different day, follow your workplace calendar. Calendars are useful. HR policies are where the plot twists live.

Related date and time tools

If you are planning around the 2026 year calendar, a few nearby tools help with the math. Use the Business Days Calculator to count weekdays between two dates while skipping US holidays. Use Days Between Dates when you need the raw number of days from one date to another. For adding or subtracting time, the Date/Time Calculator handles date arithmetic without making you count squares by hand. If you are planning by progress through the year, the Weeks Left in the Year Calculator gives you the remaining weeks and days.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2026 a leap year?

No. 2026 is a common year with 365 days. February has 28 days, and the year starts on Thursday, January 1.

Does the 2026 calendar include US federal holidays?

Yes. Holidays are on by default, and the tool marks the 11 US federal holidays in 2026. You can turn the holiday highlights off if you want a plain calendar.

Can I print the 2026 calendar on one page?

Yes. The Print tab shows a paper-friendly layout designed for one US Letter page. When you print, the page hides controls, navigation, and ads so the calendar is the thing that lands on paper.

Can I start the week on Monday?

Yes. Turn on the Monday start switch and every month reflows to Monday through Sunday. This pairs well with ISO week numbers because ISO weeks also start on Monday.

What are ISO week numbers?

ISO week numbers label weeks from 1 to 53 using an international rule: weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week with the first Thursday of the year. In 2026, Jan 1 is Thursday, so it belongs to ISO week 1.

Does this calendar include state holidays or school breaks?

No. It includes US federal holidays only. State holidays, school breaks, bank closures, and company days off vary, so add those separately when you use the calendar for local planning.

Do I need an account to use Calendar 2026?

No. Open the page, check the date, print the calendar, or copy the holidays. No signup, no trial gate, and no per-seat pricing hiding behind a task that should take 10 seconds.
