Recarregue a página e ele continua.

  5. 5

How many days have I been alive?

Enter your date of birth and the Age in Days Calculator tells you, to the day. It counts every day from the moment you were born to right now, leap days included, and shows the total in one big number. Underneath you get the same span in hours, minutes and seconds, plus rough counts of your heartbeats and breaths. The counter ticks every second while the page is open.

Someone born on December 27, 1989 hit 13,149 days on their 36th birthday. That's 315,576 hours, or 1,136,073,600 seconds. "I'm 36" says the same thing. 13,149 just lands differently.

The whole calculation runs in your browser. There's no account and nothing to install, and your birth date never leaves your device.

How the days-alive count works

The calculator takes two moments: your birth (midnight on your birth date, or your birth time if you add it) and the current second. It finds the time between them and divides by the length of a day, 86,400,000 milliseconds. Then it rounds down, because a day only counts once it's finished.

That has three effects worth knowing:

  • Leap years count themselves. The tool measures real elapsed time, so every February 29 you've lived through is already in the total. There's no "add one day every four years" step to forget.
  • Day one starts at zero. On the day you were born, the count is 0. Tomorrow it's 1. That's the same convention as saying a newborn is 0 years old.
  • It uses your device's clock and time zone. Midnight means midnight where you are now.

How to do it by hand

You can check the number with a pencil. Take whole years × 365, add one for each February 29 since you were born, then add the days since your last birthday.

Say you were born on March 3, 2013, and today is October 13, 2026.

  1. Whole years: 13 × 365 = 4,745 days.
  2. Leap days in between: 2016, 2020 and 2024, so add 3. That's 4,748 days on your 13th birthday.
  3. Days from March 3 to October 13, 2026: 224.
  4. Total: 4,748 + 224 = 4,972 days alive.

The calculator does all four steps the moment you pick a date.

Days alive at every age

This is the table for the questions people actually type, like "if I'm 13, how many days have I been alive?" The number on your birthday depends on how many leap days fell in between, so some ages have two possible answers. Add the days since your last birthday to get today's total.

A few common searches, answered:

  • Born in 2015? You turn 11 in 2026, and on that birthday you've been alive 4,018 days, whatever the month.
  • Born in 2013? You turn 13 in 2026, on day 4,748.
  • Born December 21, 2017? Your 8th birthday on December 21, 2025 was day 2,922.
  • Live to 80? That's 29,219 or 29,220 days. Reaching 100 takes 36,524 or 36,525.

Day-count milestones

Round numbers of days don't line up with birthdays, which is exactly why people celebrate them. A 10,000-day birthday falls at about 27 years and 4 months. Someone born on May 14, 1990 reached it on September 29, 2017. Enter your birth date in the calculator, or use Days Between Dates to find the date you'll hit the next one.

Heartbeats, breaths and the small print

The heartbeat and breath counts are estimates. They multiply the minutes you've been alive by fixed averages: 80 beats per minute and 16 breaths per minute. Normal resting rates for adults run 60 to 100 beats and 12 to 20 breaths a minute, so these are mid-range figures. Children's rates are higher, babies' much higher, and athletes' resting heart rates lower. Treat the numbers as the right order of magnitude, not a medical reading. For a heartbeat count on its own, try Heartbeats Since Birth.

When the number looks off

  • No birth time entered. The calculator assumes midnight. Your day count is right, but hours, minutes and seconds can be off by up to 24 hours' worth. Add the time from your birth certificate if you want the seconds to mean something.
  • A friend's site shows one more day. Some calculators count the birth day itself as day 1. This one counts finished days, so it reads one lower.
  • Daylight saving time. The count measures real elapsed time, so if you were born in winter and it's now summer time (or the other way round), the day total rolls over an hour away from local midnight. Born in winter and checking in summer, it catches up at 1 a.m.
  • Born on February 29? No special handling needed. Elapsed days don't care that your birthday only shows up every four years.
  • Milliseconds. The calculator stops at seconds. Multiply the seconds figure by 1,000 for milliseconds. At 36 years, that's 1,136,073,600,000.

Frequently asked questions

If I'm 13, how many days have I been alive?

Between 4,748 and 5,113 days. On your 13th birthday it's 4,748 or 4,749, depending on whether three or four leap days have passed, and it climbs by one each day until you turn 14. Enter your birth date for the exact number.

If I'm 11, how many days have I been alive?

Between 4,017 and 4,382 days. You hit 4,017 or 4,018 on your 11th birthday. If you were born in 2015, you reach 4,018 on your 2026 birthday.

Does the calculator include leap years?

Yes. It measures the actual time between your birth and now, so every February 29 you've lived through is already counted. You never add leap days yourself.

How many days is 80 years?

29,219 or 29,220 days, depending on how many leap days fall in those 80 years. A rough rule for any age is years × 365.25.

Can I see how many days old I'll be on a future date?

Not in this tool. It counts up to the current moment only. Use Days Between Dates with your birth date as the start and the future date as the end.

Is my birth date stored or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server or saved.
