Why we built 28
AI writing tools have the worst margins in software.
Jasper, Copy.ai, Rytr, Writesonic — these companies charge $29 to $99 a month for the right to call OpenAI for you. The model under the hood is the same. The prompt is a paragraph they wrote once. The markup is 1,000% to 5,000%.
We're not interested in that business. 28 writing microapps, the AI ones priced at the cost of the underlying API. Members get a flat monthly credit included; non-members can't use the AI tools (because we'd lose money on every click) but the tools are visible so you know what's there.
The non-AI writing tools (paraphrasing, summarising, bullet conversion) are free. Always. The free version of "Pro" features at AI writing companies. Use them, share them, never sign up.
Speed
Generate in 3 seconds
No queue. No "server warming up." No 30-second "thinking" animation that's actually rate-limited free-tier latency. The AI returns at the speed of the underlying model — that's it.
Privacy
Your draft is your draft
Inputs go to the AI provider for inference and nowhere else. We don't store your prompts. We don't train on your text. We don't sell it to data brokers.
Honest
AI at near-cost, never marked up
Members pay what it costs us, plus a thin sliver to keep the lights on. There is no Pro tier with "unlimited generations" for $99. We charge what compute costs.
